kids old threads, new life

Time to get the kiddos fixed up for school, but this time do it Reclaimed style! I love these awesome ideas on how to make kids clothes last one more season! I pulled an article out of a magazine a few years ago, and have had it stashed away just waiting to share it with you all.

Old tank into cute bucket bag: Cut a slit in the hem of a tank top, thread a ribbon through and cinch into a knot. Hide ribbon inside the bag.

Fringe shorts out of floods: Mark cut-off point with chalk while your kiddo is wearing the jeans (don’t skip this step)
Sew on a trim to hid the frayed edges.

Old tights into funky leggings: Cut cotton knit tights just above the ankle. Be sure to sew elastic trim on with elastic thread.

Rescued jeans: Bond iron-on adhesive to fun fabric and cut into a cute shape. Use a warm iron to attach to pants.

Stained T saved by bleach pen: Apply a generous amount of bleach to the stain. Beware-results are unpredictable, as bleach tends to bleed.

Lone sock to wrist band: Cut foot off sock where ribbing begins. Push decorative brads through only the top layer of the sock and secure.
I LOVE these ideas. Not only because you are reusing something; but seriously, how adorable are these outfits! What are some ideas you have done to make clothes last one more season?

Have a fabulous day!

I love it, great post!
Thanks Holls!
Love the tank bag idea! So cute. I think I’d mess up the bleaching one, it would not look like a cool design only a splotchy mess.
Yah I love the bag too. Seems just about the right amount of difficulty for me as well.
Fun, fun, fun. LOVE the tights-to-leggings transformation!
